Wrinkle relaxers

Soften existing lines and prevent new ones from forming for a smoother, more rested appearance.
We use FDA-approved neuromodulators (like Botox and Dysport) to temporarily relax facial muscles that cause deep expression lines, resulting in smoother skin without compromising your natural ability to express yourself.

What can you expect?

  • Skip the Gym: Plan your workout before your appointment. We recommend no strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your appointment.
  • Bruise Control: Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and Vitamin E for 24–48 hours prior to minimize the risk of bruising.
  • Fresh Face: Arrive with a clean face (no makeup) to reduce the risk of infection at the injection sites.
  • The Map: Your provider will ask you to make several facial expressions (frown, raise eyebrows, smile) to determine muscle strength and map out your unique injection pattern.
  • The Pinch: The needles used are tiny (about the width of 2-3 human hairs!). The injection feels like a quick, minor pinch. Depending on the areas being treated, the entire process can take less than 15 minutes.
  • The “Mosquito Bites”: Immediately after, you may have small raised bumps at the injection sites. These typically disappear within 20–30 minutes.
  • Stay Upright: Do not lie down flat or bend over excessively for 4 hours post-treatment to prevent the product from migrating to unwanted muscles. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately after their appointment.
  • No Pressure: Do not wear tight hats or headbands, and avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours.
  • Patience: Results are not instant. You may notice the effects start to kick in within 3-5 days but full onset is around 2 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get it before an event?

Yes, but timing is key. Because it takes up to 2 weeks to see full results, we recommend a 2 week follow-up appointment for any touch-ups. If a touch-up is necessary, it may take another 2 weeks for you to see your final results. This is why we recommend scheduling your appointment 4 weeks before any major event.

Does it hurt?

Minimal discomfort. Most patients say it feels like a little bug bite. We can use ice or a distracting vibration tool to make it even easier.

What happens if I stop getting it?

Nothing bad. Your muscles will simply regain their movement, and your wrinkles will slowly return to how they were before. Your face will not “sag” or look worse than it did originally.

Will my face look frozen?

Only if you want it to! The “frozen” look comes from using a higher dose of toxin. At Skin Talk, we prioritize a “natural” look where you can still move your eyebrows and look expressive, just without the deep wrinkles.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

They use the same active ingredient (Botulinum toxin type A) and work the same way, by blocking nerve signals to muscles which relaxes movement and soften wrinkles. They differ in some of the accessory proteins used to stabilize the toxin.

Botox: The industry standard. Great precision. Takes 4-7 days to kick in.

Dysport: Spreads slightly more, making it excellent for large areas like the forehead. Kicks in faster (2–3 days).
