$541.75 oz · 50 g

  • 100% mineral
  • Broad spectrum UVA / UVB
  • Blocks blue light
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Vegan & cruelty-free
  • Reef friendly
  • Fragrance-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Phthalate-free
  • Gluten-free
  • Dye-free
All benefits
  • Broad spectrum SPF 40. Zinc oxide covers UVB, which burns, and UVA, which ages.
  • It also covers blue light, which causes photodamage, accelerates aging and contributes to hyperpigmentation.
  • Ceramide III strengthens the barrier and reduces moisture loss.
  • Dries down satin and semi-matte, blurring pores and texture.
  • Includes vitamins C and E for antioxidant support.
  • Photostable, non-comedogenic, reef friendly, vegan and cruelty-free.
How to use
  1. Put it on last, after your serums. Silicones seal, so anything you layer on top will not get through.
  2. Be generous, and do not skip your neck and ears. Most people use too little. Use approximately 2 finger lengths for your face and an additional finger length for your neck.
  3. Dot it across your face, blend outward, and give it a minute to set before makeup.
  4. Reapply every two hours if you are out in the sun, and wash it off at night.
Why you’ll love it
  • The tint is sheer and neutral. It is there to cancel the white cast of zinc and to protect against blue and visible light, not to provide coverage. It blends across a wide range of tones rather than matching one.
  • It can double as a primer, which may take a step out of your makeup routine.
  • Ceramide III helps support the skin barrier and boosts long-term hydration, which is why we recommend it for dry, mature skin and dry climates.
Who it’s for
  • Normal to dry skin, mature skin, and anyone in a dry climate.
  • Sensitive skin, with no chemical filters, fragrance or dyes.
  • Anyone who wears makeup and wants their SPF to double as primer.
  • If you want water resistance or coverage for the body, Dew Not Disturb may be a better fit.

Key ingredients

Ingredients that make a difference

Each ingredient has a reason for why it is included in the final formulation of our products.

Active · 16%

Zinc Oxide

The only active in the formula, giving broad spectrum SPF 40. Worth noting: more zinc does not automatically mean higher SPF. The inactive ingredients and how they are formulated are also taken into consideration.

Key ingredient

Ceramide III

A barrier lipid identical to the ceramides your skin already makes, produced by biofermentation. Skin has been shown to hold onto water measurably better.

THD Ascorbate

An oil-soluble vitamin C, so it absorbs well without irritating the skin, and it stays stable over time.

Tocopheryl Acetate

A stabilized form of vitamin E. Works alongside the vitamin C as the formula’s antioxidant pair.

Iron Oxide

The mineral pigment that gives the tint. It also protects against visible and blue light.

Good to know

Will the tint match my skin tone?

The tint is sheer and neutral. It is there to cancel the white cast of zinc, not to provide coverage, so it blends across a wide range of tones rather than matching one.

Prime Time or Dew Not Disturb?

Prime Time is 16% zinc with a satin, semi-matte primer finish and added ceramides, a facial sunscreen for normal-to-dry or mature skin, or dry climates. Dew Not Disturb is 20% zinc with a glossy, dewy finish for face and body, water resistant for 40 minutes, and our first pick for post-procedure and very sensitive skin.

Are the silicones going to clog my pores?

No. Silicones form a breathable barrier and are generally considered non-comedogenic. What matters is cleansing properly at night, like anything designed to sit on skin as a barrier.

Where does it go in my routine?

Always last in the morning, before makeup. Silicones form a breathable barrier, so serums or treatments applied over them cannot get through.

Do I need it on cloudy days or indoors?

Yes. About 80% of UV rays get through cloud cover, and UVA passes through window glass, including in your office and your car.

Is it reef friendly and cruelty free?

Yes to both, and it is vegan.
